Online university awards full-tuition scholarship to military mom

In order to help parents obtain higher education, Ashworth College participates in the Project Working Mom and Dad scholarship program. Through the initiative, one nontraditional student receives a full-tuition scholarship each month.

In November, Marisa Reali – a military mom of two daughters – received the award, AL.com reports. As a result of the financial aid, Reali said she is able to pursue an online associate’s degree in marketing at the college. She added that she would eventually like to earn her bachelor’s degree. To qualify for tuition assistance, Reali wrote an essay about her life as a single mom while her husband was deployed.

The mother currently works in real estate as a buyers’ agent and has started marketing a weight-loss program. Being in business for herself is an ultimate professional goal, she told the news source.

According to the media outlet, her advice for parents is to not give up on their dreams. She added that she wants other women to not forget about themselves amid life’s other obligations.
